Irish and international foundation memberships
Frank Lalor was one of 5 industry leaders instrumental in the foundation of the Irish Direct Marketing Association in 1987 and was a founder Board Member for its formative years.
He was first Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the IDMA and liaised with all overseas bodies on a world-wide basis. He was also Chairman of the Standards Committee, which developed a new Code of Practice for List and Database Management in conjunction with the Data Protection Office.
Lalor International was the first Irish consultancy to be accepted for membership of the European Direct Marketing Association - now FEDMA - and the United States Direct Marketing Association. He remains a member of the DMA U.S to this day.
Lalor International Holdings was also the first Irish Direct Marketing consultancy to become a member of the British Direct Marketing Association (and was a founder member of the re-structured Direct Marketing Association in the U.K.).
Frank Lalor is a Fellow of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and was an active member of the Fellows Committee in 2004 and 2005.
Memberships also embraced the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, the U.K. Chartered Institute of Marketing and the American Chamber of Commerce.
A member of the U.S. Internet Society since 1995, when he attended the Internet Society's Annual Conference in Hawaii, Frank Lalor subsequently became Vice-Chairman of the steering body for the formation of the Irish Chapter of the world-wide Internet Society in 2003.
In 1992, he became a founder Board member of the Irish Australian Business Association, which operates under the patronage of the Australian Ambassador to Ireland. He served as Director for 9 years.
Frank Lalor was appointed founder Chairman of IABI in 2001 (the new Irish Chapter of the U.S. and pan-European Interactive Advertising Bureau). Irish members included the major Irish and Irish based international web sites.
As Irish member of the U.S. Direct Marketing Association, he has attended annual conferences in the U.S. since 1983. This year, he attended the DMA.08 Conference in Las Vegas.
